How I Work
Client Consultation
An initial meeting for me to understand what you would like to achieve with your outdoor space. A design proposal will then be sent to you containing the project brief, my terms and conditions as well as my fee structure.
Site Survey and Analysis
Once the proposal has been accepted, the site survey and analysis will take place. Measurements and notes will be taken of any aspect of the site -unsightly views, etc- that will be relevant to the design of the scaled master-plan. The pH of the soil will also be tested at this stage to confirm the plants that are best suited to the site.
The Design
A thorough understanding of your needs and of the aspects of the site will ensure that I create a pretty space suited to the various uses you want to make of your outdoor area.
A preliminary functional layout of the garden (including suggestions of materials) will be discussed with you before I proceed to drawing the master plan and planting plan.
Project Monitoring
The administration of the project build is another service that I offer.
Once the specifications have been prepared, the work is put to tender and the retained contractor is provided with any necessary construction drawings.
A number of site visits during the course of the build then ensures that the garden is true to the design.
Planting
Once the hard-landscaping is in place, I can proceed with planting, an important stage that I always carry out myself.
I can also provide any interested clients with a maintenance schedule, which gives seasonal instructions on how to take care of the garden.
Maintenance
Seasonal maintenance for the gardens I created can also be provided. This consists of 4 to 5 maintenance sessions per year where essential activities like pruning (restorative pruning if appropriate), tidying up climbers, dividing perennials, etc. take place.
We also offer monthly maintenance contracts.
