About Celine David.
Designing gardens is my second career, and a marked change from my first. I worked in Finance, spending long hours in the City and living a fast-paced life, until redundancy in 2008 made me think about retraining.
Through revamping my own garden, I had realised that I loved working with plants and optimising outdoor spaces, so the choice for my change in career was pretty obvious. I gained a Diploma in Garden Design from KLC in January 2010, and have been designing outdoor spaces ever since.
I love the challenge of creating something beautiful that captures a customer’s vision and personality. I work to a specific brief, listening to a client’s wishes, taking into account the budget, the site, the requirements, and coming up with clever solutions that make the most of the space.
For me, the garden is a painting that must change with each season. The colours and textures have to work all year round, from new spring shoots right through to a crisp winter framework.
Not many of us wake up in the morning looking forward to the working day ahead. I do, and I feel incredibly lucky.
